Don’t ask why all the members of his family and mine had to be included in the presentation of Peter’s career as a professional teacher. For Peter, family belongs in everything, and, as well, the students in his and players he coached on his teams were “de facto” Family.
It didn’t end with school children and teachers but extended to ex-students, parents who came for mentoring, coaches he competed against and organized events with…I mean, have you ever heard of a “referrals waiting list” for children born of Peter’s ex-students old enough to have their own families, and of parents who knew Peter’s reputation and threatened to move their children elsewhere if they didn’t get a place on his class-list?
I was raised in the system and taught in it for 10 years – unheard of in my history – or the TV show “Boston Public” for that matter.
