His colleagues and family made sure they left work right away to be there to celebrate Peter, even if it took 3 hours of travel time.
There were the emails from the big-wigs of the School Board, some of whom shared the staff room as fellow teachers and some ex-students who preferred “Admin” to the trenches. There was a letter from an ex-student now living overseas, and some from the teaching family who were to sick to make it.
But everybody made sure to give their friend/mentor/colleague a send-off nobody would soon forget, and every teacher and ex-student would want to know about.
Well, it was an old-fashioned "Love-Fest" - a private "Woodstock cum Holy-Rite-of-Passage cum college-beer-bash".
